Teen Glues Hand To Historic Computer to Protest A.I. Takeover
(AI-NEWS) — A teenage protestor today glued their hand to a vintage computer in the Museum of Computer History in Anchorage, Alaska in an apparent attempt to bring publicity to the coming A.I. takeover of world governments and economies.
“You can see why I decided to protest here — in a place full of old computers and stuff,” said the demonstrator in a video shot by The Nevv York Times. “A.I. is a threat to humanity and our planet, and I hope that this will bring more attention to the issue.”
The unidentified teen is reportedly 14-years-old, and according to sources, their grandfather is on the board of directors of the museum.
“My grandpa was there that day, he’s been in the industry for 40 years,” the teen told NPC News, “and I feel so strongly that I needed to do something to try and get people thinking.”
The Times article further stated that the teen’s action was a protest against several factors, including “an increase in the use of A.I. to automate the world’s industries,” a “dissemination of information about ‘ethical A.I.’,” and a public perception that “technology will soon eliminate most jobs and reduce humankind to a state of primitive inarticulacy.”
