Have recently been experimenting with sculptural ferrocement techniques, which is where you embed chicken wire, hardware cloth (wire mesh), or similar materials to act as a structural matrix for concrete.
I was poking around online examples of this technique used to create modular (movable by hand) building panels, because I would like to have some for winter for an outdoor section of a chicken coop. Plus I wanted to play with using hemp for fiber-reinforced concrete.
The only examples I found of using concrete for building panels came from India: one of a paper about thermal conductivity of ferrocement walls and another of a Youtube video of the prcoess of making one. The paper has a few interesting pics which I will sample here below for reference, but there are more in the PDF.
From those, I was able to piece together a rough idea of what I would do. Whereas above, they remove the wooden frame which is just for casting the form, I actually wanted to keep wood frames…
